Modern day commandments

If someone makes fun of someone else, and that person is totally okay with that, finds it even funny, you don’t need to be offended. It is okay, try to get a life instead.

Thou shalt not have an opinion on cultural appropriation, unless it’s your culture being appropriated. In other words: don’t be offended by people wearing a sombrero, unless you’re Mexican. I -for one- don’t mind people wearing wooding shoes in any form. I wonder if they’re comfortable though…

You are free to choose how to identify yourself, be it as a man, a woman, neither, both, or whatever you want. But freedom also means that you cannot force someone else to follow along in your ideology. Someone may choose to honor your self-chosen identification, but they may also not. After all, it is about how you identify yourself, not how someone else identifies you. There most certainly is no reason to be offended if someone addresses you by culturally accepted standards. If you look like a boy, you will be called “he” by many. That is not an insult, it’s just to make daily life easier. There is enough shit going on in the world already, don’t make more.

Words can have a different meaning depending on how they are spoken, and in what context. Not every “shit” means there actually is poop involved. Intent and context matter. So please, only be offended if someone is actually trying to offend you. Also, not everyone can afford a nigger-nigger, because they ask top dollar nowadays, so sometimes words slip out. Let it go.

Thicker skin results in a better life than sensitive toes.

Extremist left is also extremist.

Criticizing the Israeli government is not antisemitism.

Trump is a weird guy with some definite bully and dictator characteristics (luckily laws and separation of government branches have been put in place to control overambitious presidents), but that does not mean he is always wrong.
